2012, You Sucked.

GYBE

So many things to write about, but a combination of the personal, work pressures and… some other things mean you’ll have to wait a bit longer to hear my half-composed thoughts on The Hunger Games, or my even-less-composed thoughts on certain controversial female political figures following HBO’s Game ChangeThe Iron Lady and half a conversation from White Heat on BBC2. I may be able to explain a little more before the end of this week, but as I’m off to Tenerife for a much-needed break on Saturday I’m not making any promises. Details »

Weekly Dirty South Mix #10

Gomila dobrih albuma u 2012. do sad. Alabama Shakes su, nakon odličnog prošlogodišnjeg EPja sada izdali i još bolji full album. Tu su i southern rock sastav Lucero, sa svojim novim albumom Women & Work, kao i meni donedavno nepoznati Bradley Wik and the Crarlatans, čiji je Burn What You Can, Bury The Rest jedan od najboljih albuma u 2012. do sad, a i na kraju godine će se naći na brojnim listama najboljih americana albuma. Novo izdanje ima i The Boss. Details »

this is the beginning: last month’s mix, january 2012

In which, even when she is being the world’s most rubbish and lazy music blogger, Lis puts together a selection of songs that have caught her attention through the joys of iTunes shuffle this month.

Even if I was the type to take on resolutions, I could not say I had started this year the way I meant to go on. It was not until the weekend just passed that I began to feel the cold, which ultimately became a chest infection, that had been plaguing me since the beginning of the year start to pass. I spent much of this weekend curled up on the sofa (the blanket Lilit had been using while she stayed last week hasn’t moved since our big-windowed, high-ceilinged living room is taking on the arctic conditions it always takes on when the weather is freezing) telling myself I could have two days of nothing but allowances, pyjamas and junk food. Monday! I’d begin again! Details »
